It's raining, it's pouring...

(What's with all the kid's songs? O_o)

We have decided here that Okaa-san has given us too much work to do for WWOOFing. WWOOFers are suppossed to work 6 hours, and basically, we work a lot more than that. I guess it's really like we're "part of the family" during non-work hours, which is weird and good.

One person is suppossed to get up at about 6:45 to help breakfast, while the other two have to clean the bathroom and the toliet room before breakfast. We then eat breakfast, get changed, and head out to the farming place. We farm from 9-12, then lunch, then 1-4 when Okaa-san comes and picks us up. We're then suppossed to help with dinner. I mean, that's a lot of work. A long day, really.

Today was pretty boring, though much nicer for farming. Okaa-san brought over 40 high-school students to the farm for an activity. I'm not sure why, but she did. They were there though while we were at lunch. After lunch, Slyph-san and KaKa-san needed a bathroom, so they asked Jun-san (the farm manager) and he took us to this kind of middle of nowhere public bthroom. Interesting. His wife was there too. Not in the bathroom, mind you, but in the car waiting. We then drove around a little more, and we stopped at this "gondala" (cable car) place and watched the cars go up the mountain. Jun-san all of the sudden said "Let's go." And we went up the mountain on a cable car for free! Unfortuently, as we didn't bring our cameras thinking a trip to the loo would be this exciting.

We went to the top of Mt. Annupuri, saw all of Hirafu/Niseko/Kutchan and then went back to farming. Farmed until 4:00, and then went and took all the seeds and weeds to be dumped. On the way there though Jun-san stopped at a small, off-the-road, Shinto shrine. I got to see where they pray to the kami (kind of like a a nature god) where they would pray to for rain if it didn't come soon. Very interesting considering the book I'm reading now just finished talking about kami and Buddhism!

We then left, and it started raining. That's great. Raining. and it will be for my day off tomorrow meaning I can't do any of the stuff I wanted to do because it'll be shut down or too miserable to go out. Not like I have a car to get anywhere anyway and it's too far to bike to a lot of places. But still! I'm a little pissed off. Happy for the farmers getting their rain, but unhappy otherwise.

So who knows what I'll be doing tomorrow. Dave has the day off too. So we'll hopefully be doing something together.
